From the Audience

One of the greatest rewards i receive as a speaker is the impact my audience tells me I have on them, their lives and their careers. Read the letters I’ve received from my audience to learn what they get from me. – Karyn

img 0657 72 300x200 From the AudienceI just wanted to thank you for your wonderful presentation, well said, well presented, but the best part was talking with you candidly afterwards.  I shared with you similarities that many of us share who are nurses, always the “fixers”, the “smoothers”, and often stay in a relationship hoping there will be change but really needing to accept that there wont be, and it wasn’t a good match.  I shared with you also, that I, too, was blessed in finding a true love match allowing us all to seek and find the happiness we all deserve!

I was able to kick off the Critical Care Course in our hospital yesterday with sharing some of my passion for nursing (30 years), the belief that we are impacting the lives of people every day, and the joy at being in a position to do so.  I left them, hopefully, both “amazed and amused”, sharing some of your thoughts with them, as well.  Thanks for being such a wonderful voice for values and experiences that we all share, even though geographically quite removed.  I always tell my husband, “you can spot a nurse a mile away….there is an immediate kindred bond”.

I hope our paths will cross again one day soon and will always remember so fondly the kick-off to my first NAHQ conference with you!

img 0577 72 300x200 From the AudienceI’ve looked at your business card on my desk daily since you joined us two months ago on April 23 in St. Paul for the Minnesota Treasury Management annual conference.  I extend my sincere apology for being so tardy in my follow-up.  No excuses–they’re just stories.  Before too much more time went by, I wanted to let you know how valuable your time and speaking gifts were to our membership.

Your keynote address included some very touching personal stories, and I thank you for sharing them in such a positive, uplifting fashion.  As we discussed (after talking about being fellow graduates from Univ. of Mo. Columbia), the most effective speakers are those who touch, move and inspire.  You inspire me to continue to inject humor into all aspects of life, but most particularly my work-life.  If ever there was a place that needed to lighten up, it’s commercial real estate banking, particularly given the challenges of the current economy!   As I write this, an idea came to me for a presentation I’ve been asked to make this fall for the Fellowship of Business and Professional Christian Women, so you’re even an inspiration long-distance!  Once I get it put together, I’ll try to remember (that’s the hard part) to send you a draft.  God’s humor–should be fun to research!

The feedback we received from our MTMA membership (final attendance numbered  well over 600) following your keynote address was outstanding.  Even a couple of dyed-in-the-wool scoffers, who rarely enjoy (or admit to enjoying) inspirational speakers made a point of telling me “Wow”.  “Funny, but very practical too.”  Thank you, too, for making time to stay for the entire day.  Your presence in sessions, as well as willingness to chat with our members over cocktails left such a positive impression.  No other keynote speaker we have had in my memory (+13 years) of MTMA has ever gone that extra mile.  Your time is valuable, and you spent it generously with our members.  For this and for the opportunity to share with you personally, you have my sincere gratitude.  Thank you for giving from the heart of yourself and your talents.  Blessings to you!

P.S.  I’m looking forward to reading your books this summer!

img 0559 72 300x200 From the AudienceI wanted to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the great speech and entertainment you provided for us in Miami, Fl. It is so true how in life we need to find that balance and how the good and the bad, for the most part, go hand in hand. I am attaching a photo that you so graciously shared with our Unit, the Mother/Baby nurses, and hope that you enjoy it.

Once again THANK YOU and may God bless you.
